This was the first book to hit UK book stores after the royal engagement. With an updated preface, final chapter and new cover featuring the engagement photo it is one of the most comprehensive books about the future Princess of Wales. The result of years of research, Claudia Joseph has spoken to members of Kate's family and friends, to provide a fascinating history of the Middleton family and the extraordinary journey her family has made from the mining villages of Durham to the gates of Buckingham Palace.
Kate has now been sold to ten different countries and is also distributed by Random House in Australia, New Zealand, India and South Africa. Overseas publishers include Harper Collins (USA), Key Porter (Canada), Athenaeum (Hungary), Riva (Germany), Talent (France), Record (Brazil), Han Shian (Taiwan), US Tron (Japan), Kunst (Estonia) and Alacrane (Italy). Large print rights have also been sold to Audio Go (formerly BBC Audio).
Claudia Joseph has been inundated with media requests since the engagement was announced. To date the book has been featured in The Times (17/11), Independent (17/11 and 22/11), Daily Mail (19/11 and 24/11), Express (19/11 and 12/12), Telegraph (20/11), Mail on Sunday 21/11), Sunday Times (21/11), Evening Standard (26/11), Private Eye, New Statesman, Glamour (October), Hello (6/12), Womans Own (4/1, 10/1 and 18/1). TV includes ITN news, BBC1 documentary, ITV2 documentary, ITV evening news, BBC Breakfast, Daybreak, Sky News and various regionals.
She has also been in high demand from media throughout the world.
While we are all looking forward to a national holiday on Friday 29 April to celebrate the Royal Wedding, staff at Mainstream are much more excited by the forthcoming nuptuals of Publicity Manager, Fiona Atherton and her finance Gregg, who have now confirmed a wedding date of November 2011.
