Great publicity for Car Trouble, Wensley Clarkson's funny, moving and poignant memoir about his very unique childhood in '50s and '60s London. On Saturday, the Guardian ran a piece written by Wensley in their Family section, and devoted a 2-page spread to it. Then on Monday, Wensley was in a BBC studio again for a 15-minute interview with BBC Radio Scotland's MacAulay & Co with Fred MacAulay. This is all further to the great reviews the book has already had in the Daily Mail, who said, 'this lovely, funny book captures perfectly the flavour of Sixties England, an emptier and wilder place than it is today' and the Daily Express who called it, 'a compilation of - - stories from a forgotten era that might not be, ahem, always entirely law-abiding, but are always entertaining.' Diary stories also appeared in the Daily Mail and The Independent, and Wensley also gave interviews on numerous BBC regional radio stations, including BBC Radio London's Late Show.
Clare Gee, author of Hooked, made her TV debut on 24 June, with her appearance on ITV1's This Morning. Her interview lasted a full 15 minutes, click here to read the full article. Well done, Clare -- you were fantastic!
Great coverage also for Dominic Gill's debut, Take A Seat, which got a 4-star review in the News of the World, who said that it was 'life-affirming stuff', and another great one in Wanderlust magazine, who advised readers to 'ride along without the hassle of pedalling'.
And another lovely review for Dog Days in Andalucia, this time in bestselling women's monthly magazine Woman & Home. They called the book a 'touching true story.'
