Books From Scotland News July 2007

Thank you for subscribing to Mainstream Publishing's Books From Scotland newsletter.

Mainstream recently held a trade dinner to emphasise our commitment to publishing good books by Scottish authors which was attended by key booksellers and press. Attending the dinner, at Tigerlily in Edinburgh, were Mary Turner Thomson, author of THE OTHER MRS JORDAN, which took the UK media by storm when it was published in June; Adam Ardrey, author of FINDING MERLIN, which controversially claims Merlin hailed from Scotland; Trevor Royle, author of the Highland Regiment series and Jeff Randall, a lead author for 2008 with FALLING, described as a real-life Trainspotting.

Although Mainstream has had tremendous success in the last year, notably with DON'T EVER TELL and SOMEONE TO WATCH OVER ME both of which were Sunday Times bestsellers, we are proud of our Scottish roots and keen to celebrate our success in Scotland.

Britian's Every Day HeroesLast year we were proud to be publishing the paperback of DONALD DEWAR, The first First Minister by MSP Wendy Alexander. This year we are proud to be publishing BRITAIN'S EVERYDAY HEROES by an even more famous politician, the Prime Minister, Gordon Brown.
