Exciting news this month is that we are launching Mainstream Sport Classics, completely rebranded editions of our most literary sports books, which have established themselves as classic backlist titles. With their distinctive stylish white covers they will be visible in shops and in the press from July 07. Lead titles in the promotion include football books, THE GREATEST FOOTBALLER YOU NEVER SAW, McILVANNEY ON FOOTBALL, THE GLORY GAME, KICKED INTO TOUCH, REBELS FOR THE CAUSE, THE DOUBLE and JOCK STEIN; golf books, IN SEARCH OF TIGER and A SEASON IN DORNOCH, rugby classic WINTER COLOURS and boxing book, BENNY.

The first half of the year has been relatively slow as far as sports publishing has been concerned. In spite of being the UK's leading sports publisher, Mainstream has only published three sports books - FACING TYSON, THE BEAUTIFUL MACHINE and ONE HAND ON THE CLARET JUG. From August though there will be a flurry of activity with new books by famous footballers and rugby players and new books about snooker, horse racing, cycling and athletics.
