McCRAE'S BATTALION which was first published in 2003 continues to sell extremely well. Must be all those Hearts supporters around the world or maybe it's just there are an enormous amount of 1st World War history buffs. Either way it is a book which obviously has an enduring appeal.

DOUBLE BILL, a biography of legendary Tottenham manager, Bill Nicholson is our No.2 bestseller closely followed by BATTLING JACK by Jackie Turpin, the last surviving member of Britain's best-known, best-loved boxing family. Whereas our last sport bestseller list was dominated by football and it is good to see boxing, cycling and rugby getting a look in this time. To see the full list click here.

Ironically one of our bestselling sports books of 2005 was ASHES FEVER, a celebration of England's historic Ashes win, which sold by the bucket load via book shops and supermarkets but failed to make a dent in our on-line sales. The author, photographer and designer who made ASHES FEVER such a success have now been commissioned to produce one of our lead sports titles for 2006. RYDER 2006 will be published immediately after the Ryder Cup in September, though we have to rely on the European golf team themselves to win the cup and ensure that the book is something British golf fans want to read!

BOXING'S HALL OF SHAME will be our first big sports book for 2006. Published in May it tells the inside story of the real fight game. It sensationally revisits the tragedies of punch-drunk fighters allowed to prolong their careers past their sell-by dates, the boxing scandals, the fixed fights and the powerful influence of the underworld.
