If you are based in Scotland you cannot have missed the media attention surrounding the launch of SCOTLAND FIRST by Henry McLeish. Scotland's former First Minister caused a storm with the release of his autobiography which was described by Roy Hattersley as 'a credit both to McLeish and to the country which he has served so long.'

Hattersley also said in his SCOTLAND ON SUNDAY review that 'the real importance of SCOTLAND FIRST is the book's genuine contribution to contemporary history'. The book was published at the same time as the latest Scottish bestseller list was compiled and is already at No. 9, I have no doubt it will climb higher over the coming month.

Our bestselling Scottish interest title, WHITE GOLD, was described by FHM magazine as 'Whisky Galore with Class A's'. McRAE'S BATALLION at No.2 received fulsome praise from the Sunday Herald who described it as 'an intriguing and often moving history - full of absorbing stories.'

Another Scottish interest title published this month is ROOTS OF STONE, The Story of those who Came Before by Hugh G Allison. It is a passionate tapestry that weaves the story of Scotland with lives of ordinary people in a fusion of history and memoir. Hugh Allison works for the National Trust for Scotland and the book will be launched at the Bannockburn Visitor Centre on March 27th.
