Submissions Guidelines
Here at Mainstream Publishing, we accept unsolicited manuscripts. We usually suggest that, in the first instance, a brief synopsis and three sample chapters be sent for the attention of Bill Campbell, our publisher and joint Managing Director. It will take between six and eight weeks to hear back from us, but we do endeavour to reply to everyone. If Bill is interested in the idea, he will ask for further chapters or a final manuscript.
We do ask that you take the following guidelines into consideration:
Please note that we are a non-fiction publishing house. To get feel for our list, take a look at the homepage.
Before your submission can be considered, we will need a full synopsis and three sample chapters of your writing. A link to a blog does not help us see what kind of book you are proposing
You can submit your work by post or by e-mail. Please address any submissions to:
FAO: Bill Campbell,
7 Albany Street,
Edinburgh,
EH1 3UG,
or by e-mail to Seonaid.Macleod@mainstreampublishing.com
Any postal submissions will not be returned unless an SAE is included.
Please do not post your only copy of your manuscript or disc – although we take great care of submissions, items inevitably get misplaced and we cannot accept responsibility for the one copy sent in.
As we receive such a high volume of submissions, we are unable to provide detailed feedback on manuscripts.
