New Acquisition

Someone to watch Over MeMainstream is delighted to have acquired rights to SOMEONE TO WATCH OVER ME by Izzy Hammond. Following in the vein of the international bestseller DON'T EVER TELL, which has been in the UK bestseller list since publication in May and sold throughout the world, Someone to Watch Over Me is the memoir of a woman who has survived against all odds. To the outside world Izzy's deaf and partially blind parents were the subjects of sympathy but inside the family home Izzy was the subject of vicious abuse. In Someone To Watch Over Me, Izzy is now able to reveal how the horrific childhood abuse she suffered, first at the hands of her father and then by subsequent predators, cast a shadow over three generations of her family. Her story is anything but one of bitter self-pity; it is one of a remarkable woman's indomitable spirit in the face of an evil which affects every strata of society. Finally able to break the cycle, she has at last reclaimed a life free from the demons that for so long have haunted her. Bill Campbell bought world rights. Mainstream will publish in May 2007 accompanied by a major marketing campaign. DON'T EVER TELL has sold over 250,000 copies and we anticipate that SOMEONE TO WATCH OVER ME will be equally successful. A six-part action-packed thriller it is very obviously based on Craig Murray, author of MURDER IN SAMARKAND. Like Murray, one of the characters, James Sinclair, is a former British Ambassador to the Central Asian Republic of "Tyrgizstan", sacked for his opposition to human rights abuses there in the War on Terror, and now ostracised by the British establishment. The series concludes on 14 December.Trevor White, author of KITCHEN CON, has been interviewed for a show on ITV to go out early next year.
