Mainstream is delighted to have acquired world rights to UNLOCKING THE SOLOMON KEY by Simon Cox. Author of the bestseller, CRACKING THE DA VINCI CODE, Cox's new book will tie in with publication of Dan Brown's forthcoming novel, THE SOLOMON KEY. Cox is the editor-in-chief of Phenomena, the magazine devoted to challenging dogmas, orthodoxies and half-truths. He has also worked as a researcher for some of the leading names in the alternative-history field, including Robert Bauval, David Rohl and Graham Hancock. CRACKING THE DA VINCI CODE was published in 13 countries including US (Sterling), UK (Michael O'Mara), France (Le Grand Livre du Mois), Japan (PHP), Korea (Yumen), Sweden (Wahlstroms), Greece (Esoptron), Netherlands (Forum), Portugal (Publicacoes Europa-America), Spain (EDAF), Australia (Harper Collins) and Brazil (Bertrand). He aims to deliver a manuscript within two weeks of THE SOLOMON KEY appearing on the shelves and Mainstream will publish as soon as possible after that. Bill Campbell at Mainstream bought world rights from Robert Kirby at PFD.
We have already sold ANZ rights for a substantial six figure sum following a fast and furious auction immediately after the London Book Fair. All of the major publishers were involved but the victor was Pan Macmillan who will be publishing UNLOCKING THE SOLOMON KEY in Australia and New Zealand to coincide with the UK edition. We anticipate auctioning US rights before the end of April. For further information about world rights please contact fiona.brownlee@mainstreampublishing.com
In
the last week we have also accepted offers from Euromedia in the Czech
Republic for both ONCE I WAS A PRINCESS and
NO
ONE TAKES MY CHILDREN. ONCE I WAS A PRINCESS which was originated
by Pan Macmillan in Australian has now been sold by Mainstream to Germany,
Holland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Turkey and Bulgaria.
NO ONE TAKES MY CHILDREN has been sold to Holland, Sweden and Australia. Closing dates for US offers is Friday 8th April so e-mail fiona.brownlee@mainstreampublishing.com if you would like me to e-mail the manuscript to you.
Serial rights are also doing well. SAUDI BABYLON has been sold to a leading national paper for a substantial five figure sum to be followed by an interview in a national broadsheet. Serialisation of CUT-THROAT will appear in a national tabloid between 1 May and 15 May.
