The
edited manuscript for FEMALE CANCERS by Jan de
Vries has just been delivered and is excellent. Jan is internationally
known for
his work in alternative medicine and lectures all over the world
in addition to having clinics in seven major cities in the UK and
Ireland.
In this book he succinctly addresses the main issues involving the treatment of cancers affecting women today and explains what sufferers can do to improve their chances of recovery. He also advises on the ways that women can decrease the likelihood of contracting the disease. Jan de Vries has written almost 40 books, all of which are drawn from his own experiences.
The reason for his tremendous success is perhaps best summed up by the SUNDAY TIMES who wrote it is because 'he understands people are frightened of illness'. In FEMALE CANCERS his unique voice reveals his passion for helping the ordinary person to access alternative medical care. World rights are available. Apologies to Stephen Davis, the author of FLIGHT BA149, which was reported in acquisitions news last week. Due to an internal communications breakdown wrong information was conveyed. World rights are controlled by Andrew Lownie and all enquiries should now be directed to him.
New in Mainstream Sport is NATURAL HAZARD, The Diary of an Accident Prone Golf Writer which has been described as the ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL of golf. It comes out in May. THE TIMES described it as 'a little gem'; THE DAILY MAIL referred to it as 'a joyful romp' and GOLF WEEKLY said 'as well as a high laughter quota from start-to-finish, the book also provides a terrific insight into tour life, its players and the many other characters that are attracted to it.' World rights are available.
Still
on sport THE OBSERVER SPORT MONTHLY has commissioned Paul Howard
to write a feature about RIDING HIGH for their
Tour de France preview in June which should generate more sales.
Another
book which is mentioned frequently on these pages is THE
LOOKED AFTER KID. The BBC documentary that features Paolo
revisiting the children's home he talks about in the book goes
out on Wednesday, 18th February at 10:35pm on BBC 1.
He is also on the Richard Allinson show, BBC Radio 2 that night and on the prestigious BBC1 TV breakfast programme on Monday 16th at 7.40am.
