In
the past week we have had an offer from China for ATHENS
TO ATHENS and had an enormous amount of interest in INDIAN
PETER which was featured in our last
newsletter.
The manuscript is due at the beginning of May and the book will be published in October 2004.
The National Sporting Club have just announced the shortlist for the Sports Book of the Year Awards. Mainstream are delighted to have four titles featured:

WITH
FRIENDS IN HIGH PLACES by Malcolm Slesser is getting
a lot of attention. Ottakars have made it their Book of the Month
for March and the book will be launched at Ottakars in George
Street, Edinburgh on Tuesday 16th March. SCOTLAND ON SUNDAY and
THE DAILY MAIL are both interested in taking extracts.
DEAD MEN TALKING is being extracted in the News of the World this weekend. It's running in advance of publication but the News of the World have confirmed that they will give more coverage to the book when it is published in April.
The
Today Programme on Radio 4 have confirmed that they will interview
Mike Coburn, author of SOLDIER FIVE on Monday
1st March... that is of course assuming that not everyone has resigned
from the BBC by then and that the Today programme is still in existence!
The
Today programme also want to do an interview about THE
GREAT ESCAPERS, probably on March 23rd.
THE
LOOKED AFTER KID was praised on Radio London last week.
Presenter Jon Gaunt announced to the capital 'why that book is
not as big as Tony Parsons I'll never know. It's fantastic.' To
date 3,416 people have borrowed THE LOOKED AFTER KID from libraries
all over Britain.
