 On-line
sales continue to increase. We have just released a new bestseller
list. HOW TO SPOT A B*STARD BY HIS STAR SIGN which
was last months number one has been overtaken by DAYS LIKE
THESE and McRAE'S
BATALLION which has been getting excellent review coverage.
Other newly published titles in the Top Ten include WHITE
GOLD, ATHENS TO ATHENS, IN HITLER'S BUNKER and NO
BALONEY which is no surprise given the amount of publicity
it has received in recent weeks.
 The
Mainstream Sales Conference will be on December 18th and 19th in
Edinburgh. Any Spring authors with video clips, pre publication
reviews or other material which could improve a presentation of
their book to the reps should send it to Fiona Brownlee, Mainstream

 And Finally...
 The
William Hill Sports Book of the Year Award took place on Monday
24th November.
Sadly our confidence was misplaced and IN SEARCH
OF TIGER was pipped at the post by BROKEN DREAMS by Tom Bower.
However as ever a good time was had by all. |
Rights
sales concluded post Frankfurt include MR NASTY to
Harper Collins Australia and IN HITLER'S BUNKER to
Lyons Press in the US. They are both something of an international
success story. North American rights to MR NASTY by Cameron White
were sold to Greystone Books immediately prior to the Fair and
IN HITLER'S BUNKER has also been published by Random House in Australia
and Lubbe in Germany. 
World
Cup fever has swept the rugby playing nations for the last six weeks
culminating in England's victory on 22nd November. Much has been made
of how the Scots have been less than charitable in their attitude towards
England's Rugby World Cup win however Mainstream are proof that that
is not always the case.
