News 19 September 2003
THE
REAL NUREYEV has just been delivered and will be mailed to everyone
who has expressed interest since we announced the acquisition in May.
Unlike the other biographies of Nureyev which are huge tomes of over 500
pages this book is much more accessible, something for those people who
have always meant to read other books about Nureyev but been put off by
the size and weight.
Frank
Maloney's autobiography, NO BALONEY, will now be published on 23rd
October. THE SUN will be serializing the book over three days and THE
EVENING STANDARD have confirmed an interview.
Loose
Ends, BBC Radio Four and Talk Radio (hosted by Piers Hernu, ex editor
of Front Magazine) have requested interviews with Les McKeown regarding
SHANG A LANG.
THE
TIMES will be running a feature on the North American Soccer League for
their football pullout, The Game (Monday September 22) with full credit
to PLAYING FOR UNCLE SAM. They have previously featured it in their
'forthcoming publications' section in their football season preview. The
Daily Mirror's weekly football pullout, Football Confidential, have also
reviewed the book, describing it as 'enthrallingly told' and 'exhaustive
and amusing' and www.football365.com will review the book next week in
their US soccer column.
The American Soccer Hall of Fame will have copies of the book on sale

BORDERLINE, the Mainstream book of Scottish gay writing.
The
impact of GULLHANGER, Mike Wards' book about switching allegiance
to a new football club (Brighton and Hove Albion) at the age of 41, has
triggered off all sorts of unexpected developments for him in the year
since it came out. From having no connection whatsoever with the club
two years ago, He now co-hosts the local BBC's Brighton and Hove Albion
phone-in after each match, has co-commentated on a number of the team's
matches and has just signed a deal to write a column each week for the
club's official magazine.
And Finally...
The Scottish Publishers Association will be hosting a whisky reception
on Friday 10th October in Hall 8 Stand H 901 at 5.30pm.
