Fiona Brownlee will be abandoning her baby to attend Book Expo in Los
Angeles from Friday May 30th - Sunday June 1st. Mainstream will be on
the Scottish Publishers Stand # 2551. If you are attending and would

have signed some exciting new titles since the London Book Fair!
Film producer, Rowland Perkins, will be taking FRAMED to
the Cannes Film Festival next month.
BBC
on-line has launched a list of the Best (and Worst) sports books of all
time. We are delighted to be able to say that THE GLORY GAME by
Hunter Davies (Mainstream Sport, £7.99) has made it in to the list
of the best. Not so happy that PLAYGROUNDS OF THE GODS by
Ian Stafford has been nominated in both categories! To view the list

YORKSHIRE
ENCOUNTERS will be launched on Thursday 24th April at the
Black Sheep Brewery in Masham, North Yorkshire. If you are in the area
and fancy a pint let us know! Mainstream Managing Directors, Bill Campbell
and Peter MacKenzie and Publicity Manager, Sharon Atherton will be
there. YORKSHIRE ENCOUNTERS is by Linn Watts who works for W H Smith.
It has an introduction by the Godfather of chat shows and proud Yorkshireman

Tennant is writing pieces for THE EVENING STANDARD MAGAZINE (ES) and
THE TIMES to coincide with the publication of TED AND SYLVIA.
THE
DAILY MAIL has confirmed that it will be reviewing HELL'S PRISONER and
the book will be extracted in MAXIM magazine.
MASTERMINDS OF TERROR will be extracted in THE SUNDAY
TIMES on May 8th and in JACK magazine which goes on sale on May 15th.
JOHN CHARLES is going to be reviewed in the Independent
on May 5th.

Callahan, author of IN SEARCH OF TIGER, visited the
Mainstream offices on Tuesday. After a long and entertaining dinner he
was dispatched to London (presumably nursing a mild hangover!) where
he has been locked in Broadcasting House doing back-to-back BBC interviews.
