News 28 March 2003

Baghdad's SpyBAGHDAD'S SPY has been sold to Hardie Grant in Australia. They will publish almost immediately. Hardie Grant are the same publishers who bought WAR OF THE WINDSORS which was published at the end of last year. BAGHDAD SPY was one of the most popular books at the London Book Fair and further rights deals are imminent.

The UK edition of the book is already reprinting. This week the author has been on BBC Radio 4 Midweek and BBC Radio 5 asked her to remain on the programme after her interview to contribute to their war coverage. London Weekend Television have requested an interview and on Thursday she was in Broadcasting House all day linking up to 19 different BBC radio stations nationwide! Corinne goes worldwide in mid-April when she's recording an interview for World Service's Everywoman show.

Hitler's BastardAlmost every Australian publisher has requested HITLER'S BASTARD by Eric Pleasants. The book will be auctioned in mid April.

Masterminds of terrorPublishers Lunch picked up on the sale of MASTERMINDS to Arcade in the US which has resulted in a request from Dateline on NBC. We have also received numerous requests from TV companies in the other territories where rights have been sold.

And Finally...

Aware of the high security at the London Book Fair this year Fiona Brownlee applied for an official pass for her baby. She wore it with pride but soon discovered that chewing the pass was much more fun than the book fair itself!
