WEATHERBEATEN (184018
602X) discusses sport in the British climate. With the weather problems
throughout Europe this book may become more relative to Europe as a whole,
rather than just the UK. From athletes suffering from heatstroke to yachtsmen
drowned in storms the UK weather really keeps people on their toes. This
book explores the crucial relationship between two British obsessions,
sport and the weather, and examines the ways in which sport has attempted
to combat the elements.
ANATOMY
OF THE NEW SCOTLAND (184018 6305) examines who holds power, influence
and status in the new Scotland, and offers a penetrating insight into
how decisions are made in Scotland today. The book is launched on Sunday
the 25th of August at the Edinburgh Book Festival.
