FILM DEALS

FramedThree films based on Mainstream books are in production at the moment. In addition to SHUTTERBABE and CATCH ME IF YOU CAN, which have been mentioned in recent newsletters, FILMFOUR have optioned FRAMED by Tod Volpe. They promise a large canvas film that will expose art world corruption: 'TRAFFIC with paint'. Executive Jim Wilson of FILMFOUR had this to say about FRAMED:

'What I'm looking for is a singularity of a voice. It's so hard to create a film that stands out in a crowd. Once you have a world you haven't been to or a voice you haven't heard, you're already ahead of the game.'

FRAMED will be published by Mainstream in September 2002. We acquired World Rights from Sterling Lord in New York.

Forthcoming Titles

Pre pub quotes for John Andrews's memoir FOR ALL THOSE LEFT BEHIND continue to flood in. The jacket has already gone to press with three glowing reviews on the cover but the following was received this morning from Roger Deakin: 'Andrews communicates the excitement, romance and sheer obsession of the angler's art from a spring of deep feeling that carries you through the book 'like a river.' I was hooked. At once a requiem for his angling father and a personal quest into the wild, John Andrews' story is passionate and atmospheric.

FOR ALL THOSE LEFT BEHIND will be published by Mainstream in September 2002. We only have UK and Commonwealth rights but have already had a lot of interest from Australian and Canadian publishers.
