NEW TITLES OUT THIS WEEK:
Finished copies of new titles are flooding in at the moment. This week
alone we have received THE LOOKED AFTER KID, PRISONER 13498,
NATURAL BORN FIGHTERS, THE JOURNEYMAN and THE PLEASURE
IN SCOTTISH TREES. A competition on our web site to win a box of Spring
titles has resulted in the most entries ever.
RIGHTS SALES:
ICE ROAD by Dr Stefan Waydenfeld has just been published in Poland
by Norbertinum under the title "Droga Lodowa". The author and
his wife who translated the book have just returned from Poland where
they attended two launches. The first in Otwock, the authors home town,
where he was reunited with several neighbours and school mates who he
had not seen since 1939. The second in Lublin, where the publishers are
based, which was attended by a number of members of the local branch of
the Association of Deportees to Siberia, and their descendants.
Still
in Poland the JIHAD contract has at last been finalized with Zsk
I-Ska Wydawnictwo who are the publishers of 8 out of the top 10 current
Polish best sellers.
HOW
TO SPOT A BASTARD continues to do well internationally. In the States
St Martins Press are going in to their fourth print run since Valentines
Day.

Publicity for Current Titles
Frank
McGillion, author of ON THE EDGE OF A LIFETIME, was interviewed
today on BBC Radio 5 (Nicky Campbell Show). He has also been the subject
of a full page interview in THE DAILY MAIL and a double page spread in
THE DAILY RECORD this week.
SHUTTERBABE,
out now in paperback, will be reviewed in Saturday's GUARDIAN
Kay,
the subject of the hard hitting ARMED CANDY by Reg McKay, is to
be interviewed in the most prominent interview slot, page 3 of Review
of the DAILY TELEGRAPH. Not sure how traditional TELEGRAPH readers will
react to some of Kays more explicit revelations!
BEATLES
FOR SALE is to be reviewed in the next issue of FRONT magazine.
And Finally...
A new editor has been appointed to replace Clive Hewat. William Mackie
will be joining the company from Harper Collins, reporting to Editorial
Manager, Ailsa Bathgate. He previously worked at Kogan Page and Virgin.
