News 22 February 2002A major new signing this week is FRAMED by TOD VOLPE which was bought from the Sterling Lord Literary Agency in New York. It is an exposé of corruption within the international art world. At the age of 35 Volpe became a taste maker to the stars. Jack Nicholson, Barbara Streisand, Bruce Willis, Andy Warhol, Tim Curry and Isabel Goldsmith were amongst his clients. At the height of his success he crashed and burned in a widely publicised case of Art Fraud. Charged with heinous crimes, his story made international headlines. Opting for silence Volpe denied the US government a star studded trial. Instead he spent two years in a Federal prison. Now free from the underworld Volpe shares his intimate life with the stars, his personal downfall and the inside scoop on the art world. The book has just been optioned by Film Four in London with Aimee Peyronnet set to produce. Another lead title which has just been signed for Autumn 2002 is WAR
OF THE WINDSORS. It is a no holds barred investigation into the British
Royal family revealing a well known figure to be the illegitmate child
of a member of the Royal family and the routine use of euthanasia in dispatching
those who inconveniently lingered. The book is the work of three academics
including Stephen Prior whose book on Hess, DOUBLE JEOPARDY, was
published by Little, Brown last year.
