HAPPY NEW YEAR!
After a two week break over the Festive period we have returned to our
Sales Conference, increased web sales and piles of press clippings.
THE
SURVIVOR by Jimmy Evans and Martin Short was the subject of a news
story in London's EVENING STANDARD on 7th January. The story
was regarding Evans claim in the book that Detective Chief Superintendent
Tommy Butler, hero of the Great Train Robbery, was in fact "Jack
the Stripper" a man believed to have committed 8 unsolved murders
of women in London in the late 60s. A Metropolitan Police spokesman responded
to enquiries from the STANDARD saying: "We never comment on speculation
in a book."
Paul
Ferris, co-author and subject of THE FERRIS CONSPIRACY is to be
released from prison on 21st January. A leading tabloid has
already acquired exclusive access to Ferris when he is released. At the
Mainstream Sales Conference earlier this week, his co-author Reg McKay
described their latest project. DEADLY DIVISIONS is a crime novel,
based in Glasgow with links to Europe and New York. It is being published
in March.

The
script has now been finalized for the BBC / Miramax film based on THE
BALLAD OF SYLVIA AND TED by Emma Tennant. Cate Blanchett is rumoured
to be playing Sylvia.
CATCH
ME IF YOU CAN has been in the news again this week. THE OBSERVER reported
at the weekend that the Dreamworks film, directed by Steven Spielberg
and starring Leonardo diCaprio and Tom Hanks is about to go in to production.
BLAGGERS
by Barry Ley is also getting attention from film production companies.
In the last week five companies have requested reading copies.
And Finally...
On-line sales have been going so well that we thought it would be of
interest to create a Best Seller list on the web site. Our first Top
Ten goes live today, unsurprisingly headed by JIHAD! And
BIN LADEN but closely followed by DON'T GIVE UP THE DAY JOB
and THE DREAM SOLUTION.
