News 26 October 2001
JIHAD!
continues to sell really well. It is now on its fifth reprint and has
appeared on the Sunday Times best seller list. It was featured on BBC
Breakfast News on Monday 22nd October in a feature about the latest best
sellers.
At the Frankfurt Book Fair it drew publishers from all over the world
and in addition to rights sold previously deals have been done in the
last week with Poland and Indonesia.
Following the success of JIHAD! we have signed a biography of BIN
LADEN to be rushed out for publication on November 26th. It has been
written by a Western journalist based in the Middle East. He has been
researching the book for several months but the events of September 11th
have obviously escalated publication.
The
author has had the cooperation of members of the Bin Laden family who
provide a unique insight in to his character. Serialisation rights have
just been sold to the leading tabloid newspaper for a substantial five
figure sum to run on 12th November. An ad for the book will be appearing
in The Bookseller on Friday 2nd November.
Closer to home, other topical books closer include the biography of MARTIN
McGUINESS. Serialisation rights have been sold to the Sunday Times
and will appear on the 11th and 18th November.
